At least seventeen students from Westminster Academy in Los Angeles were injured last week when a vehicle slammed into a group of children as they waited outside the private school. Witnesses say the driver of the car picked up her children from the school around 3 p.m. Wednesday but suddenly lost control of her Mercedes Benz as she left the parking lot.
Three children were seriously injured in the accident. Paramedics airlifted two students to a Los Angeles area hospital. One was listed in serious condition with broken ribs and bruised lungs. The Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating the cause of the accident.
