Headon Collision With Object

A frontal impact collision between a vehicle and a stationary object (see frontal impact head-on collision with an oncoming vehicle) can be the most serious of all automobile accidents. This type of collision can result in extensive property damage, critical injuries and fatalities. A frontal impact collision with a stationary object occurs when your vehicle collides head-on with a pole, tree, concrete wall, or other immovable object. Generally, this type of collision is serious as the stationary object is usually not able to compress. This inability to compress sends the full force of the impact into you and your vehicle. For instance, when two vehicles collide, both vehicles compress and assist in absorbing the impact. However, if you replace one of the vehicles with a non-compressible stationary object, the entire force of the impact must be absorbed by one car, not two. The physics of this type of collision often result in extremely serious injuries and fatalities.
