A front-to-rear collision occurs when the front bumper of your vehicle collides with the rear bumper of the immediately preceding vehicle. In other words, you "rear end" the vehicle in front of you. This type of collision is usually not as serious as the head-on collision because both vehicles are moving in the same direction and therefore able to compress and absorb the impact of the collision.
